FAQs

At Two Dogs and a Cat we want promote a fun and healthy and safe environment to our canine and feline guests! Infectious diseases are those that can spread from one individual to another. Oftentimes they are caused by viruses and bacteria that can significantly compromise our furry friends and even be fatal. As such, we required our guest to be current on routine vaccinations. Those include:

Dogs:

  • Canine Distemper Combo – 1 or 3 years validity accepted (depending on the type of vaccine).
  • Canine Rabies – 1 or 3 years validity accepted (depending on the type of vaccine).
  • Canine Intranasal Bordetella/Kennel Cough vaccine – to be done every 6 months despite validity.
  • Canine H3N2/H3N8 Bivalent Influenza – 1 year validity accepted.
  • Fecal

Cats:

  • Feline Distemper Combo – yearly.
  • Feline Rabies – 1 or  3 years validity accepted (depending on type of vaccine).

In addition, we request for all pets to be current on their monthly flea/tick prevention. If a dog or cat has fleas/ticks upon check-in, treatment will be required (at owner’s expense), pet will be boarded in our isolation suite and will not be allowed in group daycare/playtime for a 24 hr period.

Vaccination and flea/tick protection policy applies to all dogs visiting our facility, including boarding, daycare and grooming.

One of our goals at Two Dogs and a Cat is to create a seamless experience to our guest (furry and human).  We accomplish this by simplifying processes and providing easy solutions.

Unlike many other facilities, we have two suite configurations for dogs and one condo configuration for kitties. As such, Pet Parents do not have to worry whether the suites are size appropriate for their loved ones.

Dogs from the same pet family are allowed to board in the same suite and discounts apply.

Dog accommodations include:

Standard Suites:

Each one of our Standard Suites were custom built with your furry friend in mind. Each of our rooms are divided based on dog personality profile. For instance, if your dog is more of the “quiet type,” we would put him in the boarding area “quiet zone” with other like dogs. If your dog is more talkative, we place him in a room that is geared more towards the more active and vocal dogs.

  • Each room is assigned its own personal pet concierge
  • TV will be in the area
  • Soothing ambient music
  • Elevated bed

Each Standard suite is 4X6 feet in size and amongst the largest in the industry – therefore, they will can comfortably accommodate dogs large and small!

VIP Suites:

Our VIP suites are to feel more like a “room” at home. Floor to ceiling walls create complete privacy. As a result, each suite offers your dog added privacy with less noise and visual distractions. We have two different VIP themes: Sports Suites (with your dog’s favorite collegiate or professional sport team and our Escapes suites (featuring sought after vacation destinations).

  • Cameras that pet parents can access remotely
  • Comfy elevated beds
  • TV with dog shows
  • Soothing ambient music
  • High walls for more privacy and safety

Our VIP suites start at 4X6 in size and can be a big as 8X6! Rather than charging more or less for different sizes, we believe in matching the best sized suites to each size of our VIP friends!

Cat accommodations include:

  • Separate HVAC System.  There is no air mixture from the other sections throughout the Pet Club, resulting in healthy air circulation per condo. The kitty condos have acrylic doors with little holes on the doors. This creates a negative pressure environment where the air from the HVAC system can enter into the cat condo, then exit from the cat condo, and then out of the room.
  • Room with a View. Each cat condo features a transparent, acrylic back which sets against a massive glass window, offering a fantastic view of our “cat themed” landscaping. Instead of being boxed in while lounging in their condo, they will have a front row seat to our kitty wonderland, complete with bird feeders. The perfect distraction piece.
  • Elevated Cat Mazes. The room will have a maze of perches built into the wall, up to 6 feet tall. There will be a maze of shelves so we can let one kitty out at a time, or kitties of one family, so they can explore and run around and jump. There will be a seating area for pet concierges to sit and watch or interact with the cats.
  • Spacious Sized Condos. The cat condos are the largest commercially available. They are divided into 3 sections. There is a main living room area which is the largest of the areas, and features a perch in the upper loft area where the kitty can lay down and snooze. There are also two separate compartment areas. One of the compartments houses the litterbox to keep the odor contained to that area, plus our perforated PVC ventilation tube is designed to provide a negative pressure environment, always bringing fresh air into the unit and providing optimal odor control. Above the litter box compartment is for the kitties’ bed or blanket. This is also a perfect retreat for those kitties who are a little shy and need a quiet area to rest.

Food transitioning can be a challenging at times. Considering that many dogs and cats have a well-structured diet and are not exposed to different ingredients, food transitioning may exposed them to a different mix of ingredients in which they are not accustomed to. When pets are outside of their routine environment, they may get stressed, exacerbating food transition challenges. In order to minimize the occurrence of diet indiscretion, we recommend Pet Parents to bring their pet’s own food from home.  Please bring individual portions in baggies to ensure your pet gets the right amount of food per feeding.  This also eliminates our need to store super-size bags of food we may not have room for.

$5 service charge per day for house food: Hill I/D dry and Mixed

Absolutely! We realize the benefits of having a familiar item accompanying your pets during their stay and we will work diligently with you to ensure we accommodate your needs. In order to provide your pet with a comfortable environment and streamline the logistics around this process, we kindly ask you to bring only 1 personal item (i.e.: favorite toy) and 1 blanket per pet**. All items must be able to fit of each pet’s personal locker (so they do not get lost while your pet is having fun at Daycare!). Our locker boxes are 18X18X18.

** During boarding periods, your pet may demonstrate behavior patterns that perhaps are different of those experienced at home. Oftentimes, pets get more protective and possibly destructive of their personal belongings. Two Dogs and a Cat Pet Concierges will assess the appropriateness of providing your pets with toys and bedding. We are not responsible for any damage/destruction your pets cause to personal belongs while staying with us.

Two Dogs and a Cat has a Vision that every pet staying with us deserves to have a SAFE, enriched and fun-filled experience. Every pet staying with us will undergo a behavior and personality assessment. We will attempt to accommodate a pet’s needs even if he/she demonstrates signs of aggression. Appropriate mitigation measures will be taken (including limiting daycare activities, excluding group activities, etc). At times, despite our greatest efforts, we are unable to maintain a safe environment to your pet or our staff (i.e.: dog refuses to leave suite and attacks concierge team during handling) – in such instances, we strive to communicate promptly with our clients and notify them that boarding arrangements cannot be fulfilled. Remember, your pet and our team’s safety is PARAMOUNT.

Two Dogs and a Cat has a Vision that every pet staying with us deserves to have a SAFE, enriched and fun-filled experience. Every pet staying with us for Boarding or Daycare will undergo a behavior and personality assessment. This assessment will include a brief interview and history gathering from each pet’s parent. In addition, we exposed each pet to a series of activities geared to evaluate their response in different scenarios, such as interaction with humans, other pets, feeding times, etc. While behavior assessment does not completely prevent an accident, it significantly minimizes the potential for unfortunate pet-pet or pet-human interactions.
